The average person makes about 35,000 decisions every day. These decisions range from small to big ones—what we want to eat, what we want to do, what post we like, where we want to go, what to wear, who to talk to—so many choices we make daily. Then you must ask yourself: Who is governing my decisions? What principles, values, thoughts, and influences are guiding me every day?
Principles, values, peer pressure, and faith often shape our decisions. Ask yourself, what’s shaping my thoughts? As a Christian, I must confess that sometimes I consider what God thinks a little too late—usually when things have already gone wrong, and I suddenly need His help (even though seeking Him should be my first step in making decisions). Making decisions as a Christian means making decisions based on the Word of God. This can make you look strange in modern times. You will have to acknowledge the chaos around you and still say, “People may say this, but God says that—and because He is greater, I choose to trust Him even when everything feels confusing, and nothing makes sense.”
Before you make a decision, who do you think of? Ndiani waunofunga kuti anoti chii akaona zvandaita? Your boss? Your friends? Your parents? Your followers? Your fellow church members? Whose opinion weighs more—God’s or people’s? Do you think about what God will say, what He thinks, and what His Word says? If you do not consider God’s approval at all, know that you are not serving Him. Whatever/whoever shapes your everyday decisions and thoughts becomes your master. So ask yourself: Who is this master? Why do I care about its approval? Does this master care about me or protect me? Only you can answer these questions.
In the book of 1 Kings 18, Elijah confronted the people of Israel about their faith:
1 Kings 18:21
“Elijah came near to all the people and said, ‘How long will you waver between the two sides? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, then follow him.’ The people didn’t say a word.”
Today, reflect on your life and decide who you choose to guide your decisions, thoughts, and choices. If you are a Christian and follow God, then follow God—let your decisions reflect that, read His word, and let His commandments guide you. Remember, what you watch and listen to will eventually shape your thoughts. At the very least, be yourself, make decisions that you can defend tomorrow.
Romans 12:2
“Do not copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

This is such a beautiful reminder of whom we are called to honour and serve as Paul says in Galatians. And I am prone to make the small decisions especially with little consideration of what God would have me do and be faithful with the little and thank you for sharing this
