Dependable Love

Dependable Love

Have you ever lost someone special to you? We lose people in different ways, for example a great relationship turned sour, death, betrayal the list goes on. When this happens you are usually focused on your own issues that thinking of other people’s struggles might be the last thing on your mind. That’s just us as humans right? Well usually most times, but it’s not the same for Jesus. He has time for us 24/7.He sees our pain and knows our struggles. A great example of His love is shown in Matthew 14  when He feeds the 5000. Let’s see how the scriptures show this “dependable love”.

Matthew 14 vs 13-14

When Jesus heard what had happened, he withdrew by boat privately to a solitary place. Hearing of this, the crowds followed him on foot from the towns. When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.

Jesus had received the news that John the Baptist had been beheaded by Herod the tetrarch (this a whole other story for a different day) and my guess is He just wanted some alone time to mourn His cousin (just my guess), but He put all that aside to attend to the multitude that came for Him because He knew they needed His presence. See He is there even when our sins and those of the entire world make Him sad, He has time to listen to us, heal our wounds and forgive our sins.

Matthew 11 vs 28

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”

If you just seek Him like the crowd did, He will reveal Himself to you and show you things you’ve never seen. He will take you to a place of peace and everlasting joy even in your struggles. He walked on water so He can definitely walk over your troubles, He calmed the storm so He can also calm the worries in your head and give you rest.

Matthew 14 vs 15-16

As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.” Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”

When we go to Him, He will never let us get hungry or thirsty, just as He provided food for the 5000 plus people, He will provide everything for us. He sends us back with the Holy Spirit, the Presence of God who strengthens us when we are weak, calms us down when we are restless, and helps us to preach the gospel. I pray that at some point you will ask Him to help you and trust me He will, because He has always been waiting for you patiently to call unto Him. He’s always been waiting to shower you with the kind of love which is sufficient enough to fill up all the empty holes in your live that nothing on this earth can completely fill up. The kind of love that is dependable.
